![]() Sim Fine Art introduces fresh collections of intriguing, museum-quality British pictures as part of carefully curated exhibitions. Over the past 15 years, our themed shows have become an established feature of the London art world.
To commemorate the 80th anniversary of Thomas Hennell’s tragic disappearance and presumed death in 1945, Sim Fine Art are staging two exhibitions this autumn. Next month, in conjunction with Sevenoaks Museum in Kent, we are proud to be staging an exhibition in honour of Hennell’s career as an artist and writer, entitled ‘Thomas Hennell, Kent Countryman & War Artist’. The following month, we will be staging a major selling exhibition of Hennell’s work in our gallery in Shepherd Market.
‘Thomas Hennell, Kent Countryman & War Artist’ Thomas Hennell Selling Exhibition (as part of ‘Holding the Line 2025’)
Our annual exhibition of twentieth century war art - entitled 'Holding the Line' - is established as the leading event of its kind. This year's catalogue - our 15th - is subtitled 'The War & Women Artists' and can be read here.. We will be exhibiting this year's catalogue at The Gallery, 54 Shepherd Market, London W1J 7QX next month (4-10 November). ![]() The following video is a tribute to our friend and collaborator, Dr Jonathan Black, who has sadly died. Jonathan was the foremost historian of twentieth century war art. He leaves behind a substantial and, I believe, enduring legacy of authoritative publications on the subject. Jonathan's wit, charm and empathy with his subject - so evident in this short video - was irreplaceable. He will be greatly missed.Video below (click on it to watch)
