Adrian Allinson ROI, RBA (1890-1959), 'Lake Vista in the Oberland'

Allinson was educated at the Slade after dropping out of medical school. He became a founder member of the avant garde London Group of artists in 1914. Before and after the War he travelled extensively in Europe, particularly Germany, Austria and Switzerland (the origin of this stylish landscape). Allinson later designed the famous 'A-K' medal for the Arlberg-Kandahar downhill
